If anyone got a hyperlink url via msn from me DO NOT CLICK ON IT
as if you do, it wil operate an .exe file, that will then do the same thing to ALL your msn contacts, infect your computer, and drive you nuts while you try to resolve it.
I suppose i should be honoured that several people trusted me so much, that they assumed i wouldnt be sending them anything nasty and thus had the same problem. *wry*
Thankyou to
chaosdeathfish and
flannelcat for patience and help in sorting this out, as i broke my brain and i was unable to think of anything more constructive to do that throwing the computer out of the window.

Where did you find it? The file? So I can delete it?
I noticed that the virus was interfering with my antivirus software.
I'm going to try http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ cos it's an online scanner which won't be affected by the virus....
so i emailed it to myself, and tried it again at home, and it still didn't do anything
I guess I'm very lucky that sensible-er people than me look after my machines.
