Shameless request for donations

I'm seeking a donation of oc tents for the charity i work with (www.maternityworldwide.org)

We're sending a group of intrepid adventurers on a sponsored cycle ride to Ethiopia in November and 6 of the tents we normally use have broken. Was wondering if any larpers/festival goers who are thinking of up-grading OC tents for next season would be able to donate their old tents to us.

Looking for 2 + man capacity. Relatively lightweight, and they still need to be functional and waterproof.

If you're in the London/south/oxford/sussex/surrey/harrogate area - i may be able to collect - otherwise will need to sort out postage

If you can help out please let me know - either here or via my work email (lucy at maternityworldwide dot org). If any body has contacts within tent suppliers/manufacturers etc and could secure us new tents please pass this one.

I'm also looking for T-shirt sponsorship (couple hundred quid to buy t shirts for the bike riders- the sponsoring company will get their logo on the t shirts, and mention on our website and in press coverage but that might be too much to ask here!)

As the cyclists leave on 1st Nov, i need to get this sorted asap.

If you can help, you will not just be helping me and the cyclists but helping us save lives in childbirth in the developing world

I have a little one that you can have. It's an old Xfm branded tent and I think is OK. We can put it up at some point and check, I guess also to check for tent pegs. It's been used once, so in theory it should still be fine. It's a two man dome tent but realistically we know that that's either one person + gear or perhaps just a gear tent.

Anyway, if it's all ok, it's yours.

Love and hugs

Have you thought of asking Villa Hut for T-shirt sponsorship? Given that they sell goods from all over the world from developing nations, maybe they might be interested. Also Amex is a local business and might be interested. Try going in via marketing, sadly I don't have a name. If you do get to speak to someone make a lot of the fact that you have just stepped into the role and that this is an annual event that is covered internationally (I have no idea, but I assume it is) and that perhaps there might be other opportunities in the future. Of course that all depends if you want your charity associated with Amex. But it's an idea.

I called Villa & Hut - the man was very nice and said normally he would do it but, credit crunch and having real difficulty paying his own bills :(
